Tradition, passion and excellence in every bottle
The history of Viña Galán begins at the beginning of the last century, when Manuel Galán Nilo, great-grandfather of the current fourth generation, arrived in the town of Molina—in the heart of the privileged Lontué Valley—to practice his profession as a doctor.
It was in 1914 when Manuel acquired the “Los Olivos” vineyard, marking the beginning of a family passion that has lasted for more than a hundred years: dedication to wine.
Decades later, his youngest son, Álvaro Galán Besoaín, continued cultivating this heritage, becoming a renowned wine broker in Chile. With vision and commitment, he passed on to his children his love for the land, a job well done, and the art of crafting wines with character.
In 1991, his eldest son, Álvaro Galán Díaz, acquired the current vineyard lands and founded Viña Galán, consolidating the project in 1998 with its first international export.
Today, with its fourth generation at the helm—Álvaro Galán Piazzano and Isidora Galán Piazzano, children of Álvaro Galán Díaz—Viña Galán specializes in producing high-end export wines, sharing with the world the richness of Chilean terroir and its authentic expression in every bottle. Its wines currently reach more than 20 countries in the Americas, Asia, and Europe.
Vitivinícola Siete Tazas Ltda., the company’s corporate name, pays tribute to one of the Maule region’s most emblematic natural icons: the Radal Siete Tazas National Reserve. Within its boundaries, the Claro de Molina River has sculpted seven impressive waterfalls and their respective “cups,” natural wonders that reflect the beauty, power, and depth that also live in our wines.
